Drying
Facilities
The hotel does not have sufficient capacity for all guests but certainly if
you have been out walking and have very wet walking gear including shoes/boots
then we can put them in our drying room over night so that they will be ready
for use the following day.

Early
Morning and Alarm Calls
The telephone in your room will automatically call you when you require. The
time of your required call is set by dialling 441 followed by the time that
you require to be called and by pressing either R or Recall depending on your
telephone. The telephone system only works on the 24 hour clock so if you require
a call at 7.15am then the time you enter will be 0715 i.e. 4410715R. To set
the telephone for a call at 6pm will be 4411800R.
When your alarm call is due, your phone will ring and play
music. If you do not answer, it will continue to ring for 30
seconds, wait for 90 seconds and try again. This occurs three
times in total and if it is still not answered it will cancel.
To cancel an alarm call dial 442 followed by R, i.e. 442R.

Fax
We do not have a fax machine or fax service at this hotel.

Fire & Emergency
In the interest of your own safety you should check where the locations of
the fire alarms are in relation to your room. In addition to the normal
exits please take note of the Emergency Exit and Fire Escape at the end
of the first floor Corridor. There are Fire & Emergency Rules inside
of your hotel room with which we respectfully suggest that you familiarise
yourself.
ALL FIRE ALARMS MUST BE CONSIDERED AS EVIDENCE OF A FIRE AND
YOU SHOULD ACT ACCORDINGLY UNTIL YOU ARE INFORMED TO THE CONTRARY.
In the event that
you hear the fire alarm the muster point is the hotel car
park immediately in front of the proprietor’s
house. (See also the section under the heading No
Smoking)

Gratuities
As a matter of hotel policy no service charge is added to any hotel invoice.
Our policy is most definite that any gratuities are at the sole discretion
of the customer. Staff, however, very much appreciate gratuities and are
always considered as an indication of the satisfaction of the customer
in relation to the services rendered by staff members. If you decide to
leave any gratuities please give them to the staff member you wish to tip
or advise that the tip is to be shared.

Hair Dryer
Only Room 11 has a hard wired hair dryer in the bathroom. In all other rooms the hair dryers are Portable Hand Held, plug in, type dryers.
Hotel
and Room Keys
When you check in you will be give a hotel key fob with two keys. One key is
for your room and the other is for the front door of the hotel. Therefore at
all times while you remain a guest of the hotel please take the key fob with
you when you leave the hotel. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE FOB FROM THE KEY RING.
For security reasons the hotel door is locked when staff are not able to keep
a check on the front door so you will need your key to gain entry.
Please feel free
to come and go as you wish but we respectfully request, as
a courtesy to other hotel guests, you make as little
noise as possible. Please ensure that you leave your key fob
when you finally check out, as the room keys are part of a
special set unique to the Claremont Hotel. This means that
keys blanks are not available and cannot be duplicated other
that via the manufacturer under a special order. This prevents
criminals from being able to have another key cut and then
returning to steal from subsequent guests. This has happened
already in Polperro when the room was again entered and all
items of value removed as well as the occupant’s car
because the car keys were in the room. Needless to say it did
not happen at the Claremont Hotel. However the disadvantage
is that if the room key is not returned at the time of checking
out or lost the replacement key is very expensive and takes
some time to obtain. It therefore follows that we ask that
you take care of you key and return it to the hotel reception
when checking out. We regret that we will have to charge for
lost keys.

House
Keeping
For guests that are staying, rooms are serviced from 10am.
Please try not to occupy your room after 10am until the housekeeping
staff have finished. If you do not make your room available
for servicing at this time then it will not be serviced that
day. If you do not want your room serviced on any particular
day then please display the “Do Not Disturb” sign
on the outside of your room door. If you would like your room
serviced with priority, because you want to return to the room
as soon as possible, then please advise a staff member at breakfast.
Sufficient tea, coffee, milk and sugar are available in your
room for your personal use when staying in the hotel. If you
require additional supplies, because you drink a lot of tea
or coffee, then please request same when your room is being
serviced or at another convenient time. Please avoid such requests
between 6pm and 9.30am.

Internet
Free Wi-Fi Internet is available in the front of the
hotel for those who wish to use their own laptop and is password controlled.

Ironing
Facilities
An iron and ironing board is available and is kept on the second floor landing
next to the trouser press. We strongly request that the ironing board is always
used and clothes are not ironed on the carpet or the furniture. When you have
finished with the iron and ironing board please return them, as this will ensure
that the facility is readily available for other guests.

Items
Left Behind
Small items left behind can be returned to you by post. A £5
handling charge plus the cost of postage will be charged to
your card. Larger items will incur a higher handling cost.
Laundry
The hotel is unable to offer a laundry service. There is however a same day
laundry service in West Looe Telephone Number 263810. To ensure a same
day service you laundry should be taken to the laundry during the morning
before 11am. Please telephone the laundry to get directions and further
information. An ironing service is also available but during busy periods
a same day service may not be possible.
